Nihal Kularatna is an electronics engineer with over 46 years of contribution to profession and research. He has authored ten reference books for practicing electronic engineers including the two consecutive IET Electrical Measurement Series books titled Modern electronic test & measuring instruments (1996) and Digital and analogue instrumentation- testing and measurement (2003/2008) and five Elsevier (USA) titles. His latest research monograph on sustainable energy and energy storage systems, titled Energy Storage Devices for Renewable Energy Systems: Rechargeable Batteries and Supercapacitors, was published by Elsevier in June 2021, summarizing his applications oriented research during the last five years, supervising many PhD students at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. He was the winner of New Zealand Engineering Innovator of the Year 2013 Award. In 2021, he won the Postgraduate Research Supervision Staff Excellence Award. He was the first full-time CEO of the Arthur C Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies A Fellow of the IET (London), Fellow of Engineering NZ and a Senior Member of IEEE (USA) and a graduate from the University of Ceylon, during his industrial career at the Arthur C Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies, he was a winner of Presidential Awards for Inventions-1995, the Most Outstanding Citizens Awards-1999 and a TOYP Award in 1993. In 2015, University of Waikato conferred him with a DSc degree for his thesis titled “Contributions to Power Management, Telecommunications and Telecommunications- A Three Decade Journey”. He is currently active in research in non-traditional supercapacitor applications, power supply topologies, transient propagation and renewable energy. He has contributed over 175 papers to learned journals and international conferences. His work on supercapacitor assisted (SCA) circuit topologies/techniques such as SCALDO, SCASA and SCATMA culminated numerous US, NZ and PCT patents. He is presently employed as an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering, the University of Waikato, New Zealand. At international IEEE conferences and industry trade shows he frequently delivers invited tutorials, workshops and lectures on subjects he is passionate about, including the area of innovation and commercialization. His hobbies are gardening and car-grooming.

Prof. Zhang focuses on design and (predictive) control of renewable energy and power conversion systems, including interests of power electronics and motor drives, micro-grids with energy storage, and predictive maintenance of power conversion systems. Prof. Zhang is an IET Fellow, IET Chartered Engineer, IEEE Senior Member, and World Top 2% Scientists released by Stanford University. He was awarded the “VDE-AWARD-2017” for his contributions in advanced control for wind power generation and electrical drives. He was selected for the “1000-Talent” national program of China, and granted the Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of Shandong Province, China. In addition, he won the First Prize of Science and Technology Award of China Electrotechnical Society, the Second Prize of both Shandong and Anhui Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2023, 2022 and 2021, respectively, for his contributions in design and control of renewable energy and power conversion systems.

Following a PhD in environmental technology at UMIST in 1991, I had a research career in the UK and Australia. My research expertise covers environmental sampling, trace analysis, remote sensing of vehicle emissions, advanced wastewater treatment using chemical oxidation, reduction by nano zero-valent iron, adsorption, biodegradation and photocatalysis, and energy recovery from waste.

Dr. Lin Chen is now a full professor in the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and jointly at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. He is currently one Board member of Experts Commission of China Energy Society. He obtained his B.E and PhD in Mechanics (Energy and Resources Engineering) from Peking University. He was previously an Assistant Professor in Tohoku University, Japan. His current research topics include new energy and power engineering, CCUS (geological flow), energy resources (gas hydrate, hydrogen), supercritical fluids, etc. In recent years, he has authored over 300 well-cited international journal papers and/or conference presentations, 20 patents and 9 chapters, 4 books, including the most famous one on energy conversion (“Handbook of Research on Advancements in Supercritical Fluids Applications for Sustainable Energy Systems”, IGI Global, 2021, 821 pages). He revealed the heat transfer laws and stability conditions of supercritical fluid based natural circulation, which is in the TOP5 most-cited list of Elsevier. Recently, he is focused on CO2 based energy system and utilization processes. He was the winner of the Young Scholar Award of the Asian Union of Thermal Science and Engineering (AUTSE) in 2018 due to his contribution in supercritical fluid thermodynamics and the Paper Award of the Visualization Society of Japan (2022). He is the general Chair and/or committee member of more than 10 international conferences and also major member of Editorial-ship of 8 international journals, including Associate Editor of the ASME Journal of Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Science and an Editorial Board member of the Journal of Supercritical Fluids (Elsevier). Dr. Kwok W. Cheung received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. He joined GE (formerly ESCA) as a power system engineer developing online dynamic security assessment and energy management solutions in 1991. From 1995 to 2008, he held various technical lead and management positions responsible for the design and implementation of many leading energy and transmission markets worldwide including Transpower (New Zealand), Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), ISO New England, PJM, ERCOT, and Midcontinent ISO. In 2008, he became the R&D Director of Market Management Systems managing a worldwide engineering group to research, develop, and maintain market management products and related smart grid solutions. From 2015 to 2024, he has been the Director and CTO of Global Market Management Solutions (MMS) of GE Grid Software Solutions responsible for managing the overall worldwide businesses and product solutions for MMS. He is currently the CEO of KC-Exousia Consulting providing independent consulting services to utilities and governments around the world in grid modernization, control, and electricity market design and implementation. Dr. Cheung has authored and co-authored over 120 technical papers published in international journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Cheung is a registered Professional Engineer of the State of Washington, a Senior Fellow of GE, and a Fellow of the IEEE.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohd Hariri Arifin is a reputable Geophysics lecturer in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) with over 10 years of experience in teaching and research. He gained his PhD in Geophysics Exploration at Universiti Sains Malaysia. He is a member of the Board of Geologists Malaysia, PG29 since 2016. His passion and dedication to research have led him to publish over 50 articles and get more than 230 citations in the span of 12 years. Dr Hariri teaches a few courses such as Geophysics, Engineering Geophysics and Environmental Geophysics for undergraduate students as well as supervises postgraduate students. Prof. Muhamad Mat Noor is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at UMPSA. Recently, he was appointed as a Member of the Board of Governance for KPTM. His previous task was the Director of Office of SUARA UMPSA (2020), Director of UMPSA Press (2019-2020), Dean of UMPSA Students Development (2017 to 2018) and Director for UMPSA German Academic and Career Center (2016 to 2017). He was previously a Deputy Dean for the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. His research interest is in automotive engineering, heat transfer, green hydrogen energy, and nano-fluid, and he has published more than 400 papers in scholarly journals and conferences and holds a few invention patents. He is frequently awarded silver, gold and a special award in invention competitions of PECIPTA, ITEX, MTE, CITREX, iENA German, BIS UK, SIIF Korea and more than 60 UMPSA Cendekia Bitara Excellence Awards for outstanding researchers. He was the founder and editor-chief of the International Journal of Automotive & Mechanical Eng. Dr. Donghai Xu is the full Professor and doctoral advisor of Xi'an Jiaotong University, the visiting scholar of the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), the national level young talents. Yiming Zhang received his bachelor’s and doctoral degrees both in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University. He is the recipient of the National Youth Talent Program, “Minjiang” Scholar of Fujian Province, a full professor and Ph.D supervisor of Fuzhou University, and IEEE Senior Member. He was recognized as the World’s Top 2% Scientist by Elsevier. His research interest is power electronics and wireless power transfer. He has authored one book from Springer and published more than 100 technical papers in renowned journals and conference proceedings. He has an H-index of 37 and has won multiple excellent conference papers including ECCE, EVS, EVCP, and CIEEC. He was recognized as the Outstanding Reviewer for IEEE TPEL and TIE. Dr. Noor Izzri Abdul Wahab is a distinguished researcher in electrical and electronic engineering, with a comprehensive academic background and notable professional achievements. He began his academic journey with a bachelor's degree from the University Of Manchester Institute Of Science and Technology (UMIST), UK, in 1998, followed by an MSc in Electrical Power Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2002, and a PhD from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2010. His research interests include power system stability, dynamics, control, and the application of artificial intelligence in power systems. He is dedicated to improving power quality and the reliability of electrical systems. Dr. Noor Izzri has authored over 150 high-impact publications, with an H-index of 32 on Google Scholar (3,328 citations) and 30 on Scopus (2,730 citations). His significant contributions to academia underscore his influence and commitment to advancing electrical and electronic engineering.

Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa received his PhD degree in Information Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo in 2014. He is currently an Associate Professor at at International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (WPI-I2CNER) and Institute of Mathematics for Industry (IMI), Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan. His research is on the modeling, optimization, and control toward low-carbon and autonomous energy systems, with particular focuses on renewables and distributed energy resources, smart grid, artificial intelligence, multi-agent systems, and decentralized optimization. Dr. Hoa was a recipient of the IEEE Japan Medal in 2024, the Masao Horiba Awards in 2019, and the Best Paper Award - 2nd Prize at the IEEE PES Generation, Transmission, and Distribution (IEEE PES GTD) Asia Conference in 2019. Dr. Hoa is a Senior Member of IEEE.

Professor Soteris Kalogirou is at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Sciences and Engineering of the Cyprus University of Technology, Limassol, Cyprus. In addition to his Ph.D., he holds the title of D.Sc. He is a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences, Founding Member of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, Member of Academia Europaea and Fellow of International Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance. For more than 35 years, he is actively involved in research in the area of solar energy and particularly in flat plate and concentrating collectors, solar water heating, solar steam generating systems, desalination, photovoltaics, geothermal energy and absorption cooling. M A Hannan is employed as Distinguished Professor & Professor of Intelligent Systems in Energy and Power Applications in the School of Engineering and Technology, Sunway University, Malaysia. He is an Adjunct Professor at School of Electrical Engineering, Korea University, Korea and Visiting Professor at Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia. He was a Visiting Professor at School of Electrical, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering University of Wollongong, Australia. Prior to join Sunway University, Prof Hannan was with College of Engineering, The National Energy University, Malaysia as a Senior Professor and Advisor for research and publication in Innovation and Research Management Centre, UNITEN since Sept 2016 to May 2023. He was also with the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, National University of Malaysia as a full Professor before joining to UNITEN since 2013. His research interest is on intelligent systems in energy and power applications related to renewables integration, energy storage system, hydrogen storage, smart grid, energy management system, building energy efficiency, battery controller and BEMS, HEV energy management system, inverter controller, MPPT, FACTS and custom power devices, power quality and intelligent embedded system development in academic and industrial (national and international) level of research and development. His aspiration is to provide leadership of research governance, funding, high quality training and mission, aimed at embedding a strong culture of research integrity, excellence, and impact towards achieving the championship and global standing. He is leading academic and industrial research on national and international funding arrangement in both fundamental and applied research, directing pre-commercialized products, high quality research outputs and building collaborations. Also, transforming academic and industrial research technologies into teaching and learning process to ensure appropriate learning methods in higher education. Biography: Graduated in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Campina Grande - UFCG (1999), Master in Civil Engineering from UNICAMP (2002) and Doctor in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UNICAMP (2005). In the last 20 years he has coordinated and participated in dozens of publicly and privately financed R&Ds in the area of electricity generation and distribution, most of them regulated by ANEEL. The researcher is an Associate Professor at the University of Pernambuco (UPE/POLI) and a Permanent Professor at the Postgraduate Program in Systems Engineering (PPGES), teaching subjects, advising undergraduate and graduate students and supervising postdoctoral students. He works as a professor/researcher in the following areas: probability, stochastic processes, hydrology, time series forecasting, computational intelligence, smart meters, renewable energies, energy storage, planning and programming of the operation of electric power systems, hydrothermal power systems, energy planning, reliability engineering in life data analysis, repairable systems and extreme conditions of use. He works as a professor in the postgraduate courses (lato sensu) of POLI / UPE: Specialization in Construction and Assembly Engineering, Quality / Productivity Management, Automotive Engineering, Maintenance Management, and is coordinator and professor of the Specialization Course in Reliability Engineering. The professor is a Member of the ABNT/CE-003:120.001 Commission for the Study of Electric Energy Storage Systems at ABNT - Brazilian Association of Technical Standards, Member of the Sectorial Assessment Commission (CSA) of POLI/UPE, Member of the Research Group of Computational Intelligence (CIRG@UPE), Member of the Electric Energy Management Research Group (GEE), Member of the Renewable Energy Research Group (GPER), Member of the Extension Group of the Inclusive Psychopedagogical Support Nucleus (NAPSI) and Member of the Structuring Teaching Nucleus of Basic Education (NDE).

Pengfeng Lin received the B.S. and M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University, China, in 2013 and 2015 respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Interdisciplinary Graduate Programme from Nanyang Technological Universty, Singapore, in 2020. He was with Energy Research Institute @ NTU as a Research Fellow and with Électricité de France (EDF) as a Smart Grid Energy Expert / Research Scientist. He is in the global top 2% of Scientists released by Standard University. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research interests include power system stability / reliability analyses, smart grid cyber-physical security, and artificial intelligence analytics.

Dr Yong Yi currently works as a Professor-level Senior Engineer in China Southern Power Grid Co. He obtained his PhD from Tsinghua University in 2017. His researches focus on novel dielectric material for application of electrical power system; condition monitoring for smart electrical grid; machine learning for high-temperature polymer-based dielectrics; conductor aging in smart electrical grid; high voltage engineering. He is a reviewer of about 20 international Journals. He is editorial members of 4 international Journals. He was 5 conference chairs. He authored and co-authored over 70 journal publications and has 10 patents. He is a senior member of IEEE. He has attracted more than 1 million dollars in research grants from industrial partners, National Natural Science Foundation of China, The State Key Laboratories Development Program of China and National Program on Basic Research Project of China.

Prof. Hanshen Li received his B.S.E. degree in Electric Power Engineering and Automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Shanghai, China, in 2016, and the M.E. degree in Information, Production and Systems Engineering from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan in 2017, and M.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from SJTU in 2019, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), Beijing, China in 2023. Prof. Li has been a researcher at China Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute (EPPEI) since 2023. His research interests include planning and operation of active distribution networks, where Li has published 50+ papers with over 200 total citations. He has been an editorial board of Journal of Energy Science and Technology since 2023, and also member of IEEE, IEEJ, CSEE and CES.
